Disney movies were a big deal in my family when I was growing up. From The Lion King to Alladin, you always knew that it would be a heart-warming experience for the entire family. But, as fond as I am of those memories, you know what could have made them even better? Heavy f@#*ing metal!
Let’s face it, I don’t care if you’re the most hardcore metal head ever, you have a soft spot for at least one Disney movie! So why not revamp the classic Disney tunes to give us something to rock out to?
That’s the mission of the “D-Metal Stars”, who have released their album Metal Disney (which was highly popular in Japan) in the United States on Friday. The band includes a bunch of high-profile musicians, including Mike Vescera (who formerly worked with Yngwie Malmsteen) on vocals and Rudy Sarzo (formerly of Ozzy Osbourne) on bass.
I definitely recommend giving a listen to the D-Metal Stars if you want to hear an awesome new spin on your favorite Disney classics! I’ve got one of my favorites “Under the Sea” down below if you want to get a taste, and be sure to check out the full Rolling Stone profile of the album here!
