Jack White has confirmed a full run of spring and summer tour dates that will commence on May 29th in Tulsa, Oklahoma, keeping the former White Stripes frontman on the road until early August, when he'll wind things down at a festival in Montreal. The shows come in support of White's second solo album, Lazaretto, which will arrive via his Third Man record label on June 10th.
There's no word yet on what kind of backing band White will take on tour with him. The live shows in support of his 2012 solo debut, Blunderbus, featured two backing bands, one all-male and the other all-female.
- Blunderbuss was the first album of White's career to debut at Number One on the Billboard 200 album chart. It was also nominated for five Grammys, including Album of the Year.
- On April 19th, Record Store Day, White plans to record, press and sell the title track from Lazaretto as "the world's fastest released record...in the history of mankind."
- He plans to perform the song live at the Nashville headquarters of Third Man that morning, send it to the pressing plant to have copies pressed immediately, and have them back in time to be sold at the Third Man store.
