Linkin Park has revealed the cover art and release date for its sixth studio album, The Hunting Party. The CD is due out on June 17th and follows up 2012's Living Things. It's the first Linkin Park album produced by the band itself and singer Chester Bennington told us that's been a great experience: "We definitely have done things differently. I mean, we've kind of gone into the studio similar to the way that we did with (debut album) Hybrid Theory. I mean, we're really just open to kind of like, whatever is going to inspire us to make another great song, we're down to do that, and producing it ourselves has allowed us to really just be free with whatever we want to do creatively."
- The first single from The Hunting Party, a guitar-heavy track called "Guilty All The Same," emerged early last month.
- Bennington said at the time that the new album was "really aggressive, really energetic," and moved away from the electronic sounds of the group's last two efforts.
- Linkin Park will head out on a co-headlining North American tour this summer with 30 Seconds To Mars dubbed the Carnivores Tour. The road trip kicks off on August 8th in West Palm Beach, Florida and also features AFI.
