Halloween Events/Trick-Or-Treating In Mid-State 2013

Halloween is not any sort of official government holiday; however, with the forecast of rain and possible severe weather on Halloween, some cities and/or counties have postponed events, and advised or encourage residents to postpone trick-or-treating. Additionally, some events have been planned indoors.

Regardless of what your city/county decides, please use caution when making the decision for your family.

Tennessee

BEDFORD COUNTY

Trick-Or-Treating on Thursday, October 31. Officials have advised going before 6 p.m.

CHEATHAM COUNTY 

Pegram has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

Pleasant View Mayor Perry Keenan encourages families and neighborhoods to move their festivities to Friday, November 1. The Halloween on Main Street tradition, with the PVVFD and local businesses, has been moved to Friday.

CLAY COUNTY

Clay County and the city of Celina have asked residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Saturday, November 2.

Indoor Activities

Inglewood Library - Halloween Happening
WHAT: After-school party for kids 10 and under. Costumes encouraged, but not required.
TIME: 3-5 p.m.
COST: Free

Goodlettsville Library
WHAT: Enjoy some spooky Halloween fun as we read a Halloween tale, play games, have some treats - but watch out for the tricks! Wear your Halloween costume. All children (up to age 12) must be in costume and accompanied by an adult.  Adults: please no masks.
TIME: 6:30 p.m.
COST: Free

Mall at Green Hills
WHAT: Trick-or Treat at the mall. All 120 stores will have candy to give out.
TIME: 5-8 p.m.
COST: Free

Rivergate Mall
WHAT: Trick-or Treat at the mall in the Sears food court.
TIME: 6-8 p.m.
COST: Free

HICKMAN COUNTY

The county mayor has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Saturday, November 2.

HOUSTON COUNTY

Erin and Tennessee Ridge in Houston County have advised postponing trick-or-Treating to Friday, November 1.

MACON COUNTY

The city of Lafayette and Macon County has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Saturday, November 2.

Red Boiling Springs is having trick-or-treating as planned Thursday, October 31 -- Subject to change.

MAURY COUNTY

Caution is advised for trick-or-treating in Columbia on Thursday, October 31, but it has not been postponed.

Downtown Columbia Business and Professional Association has postponed Haunting in the District to Friday, November 1. 

MONTGOMERY COUNTY - Clarksville

Clarksville and Montgomery County mayors are encouraging residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

OVERTON COUNTY

Trick-or-Treating is advised to be postponed until Saturday, November 2.

PERRY COUNTY - Lobelville, Linden

Officials ask that all Halloween activities be rescheduled to Friday, November 1.

PICKETT COUNTY

The Sheriff has asked residents to postpone to Friday, November 1.

PUTNAM COUNTY

Cookeville has advised postponing trick-or-treating until Saturday, November 2.

Monterey has advised postponing trick-or-treating until Friday, November 1.

ROBERTSON COUNTY

Coopertown's Mayor has asked parents to consider postponing to Friday, November 1.

City of White House has decided to change the official trick-or-treating hours to Saturday, November 2 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

RUTHERFORD COUNTY

Trick-Or-Treating postponed to Friday, November 1.

The annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event at the Sheriff's Office was rescheduled for Friday.
4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 940 New Salem Highway in Murfreesboro.

WHAT: Trick-or-Treating
TIME: 4 p.m. until all candy is give out
COST: Free 

Stones River Mall
WHAT: Mall-O-Ween. Children age 12 and younger (accompanied by parents) are invited to trick-or-treat at participating retailers throughout the mall. Stones River Mall will provide goodie bags for the first 500 kids dressed in costume.
TIME: 5-7 p.m.
Cost: Free

SMITH COUNTY - Carthage, So. Carthage, and Gordonsville

Trick-Or-Treating is advised to be postponed to Saturday, November 2.

STEWART COUNTY

Indian Mound has asked residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

SUMNER COUNTY

Goodlettsville has moved its Pumpkin Festival to Rivergate Mall on Thursday, October 31. 

Portland's Mayor has encouraged residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1. The public trunk-or-treat event at Richland Park has been moved to Friday from 5 to 8 p.m.

City of White House has decided to change the official trick-or-treating hours to Saturday, November 2 from 5:30 p.m. - 8 p.m.

TROUSDALE COUNTY

Trousdale will observe Halloween on Saturday, November 2.

VAN BUREN COUNTY

Trick-or-treating for Spencer, TN will be moved to Saturday, November 2.

WHITE COUNTY - Sparta

Trick-Or-Treating is advised to be postponed to Saturday, November 2

WILLIAMSON COUNTY

Nolensville said trick-or-treating should be done at residents' discretion. If activities are hindered by weather, trick-or-treating may resume on Friday, November 1, or other dates set by certain HOA's.

Franklin's downtown Hincheyville neighborhood has postponed trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1. Otherwise, trick-or-treat days and times are set by individual neighborhoods and homeowner associations.

Cool Springs Galleria
WHAT: CoolSprings Galleria is hosting a family night of Trick-or-Treat at participating retailers.
TIME: 5-7 p.m.
COST: Free

WILSON COUNTY

Lebanon has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1. Halloween on the Square has also been postponed to Friday, November 1.

Mt. Juliet has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

Watertown Trick-or-Treat on the Square and the Annual Costume Contest has been moved to Friday, November 1.

Kentucky

CHRISTIAN COUNTY

Christian County Emergency Management recommends all Christian County residents to reschedule their Halloween events for Friday, November 1.

Fort Campbell has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating on the post to Friday, November 1. Operation Friendly Ghost has been postponed to Friday as well.

LOGAN COUNTY

Adairville has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

Russellville has advised residents to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

TODD COUNTY

Residents advised to postpone trick-or-treating to Friday, November 1.

WARREN COUNTY

Trick-or-treating on Thursday, October 31. However, there are some neighborhoods within the City of Bowling Green and Warren County that are deciding as a neighborhood to have trick-or-treating Friday night only if a porch light is on.
