Muse bassist Chris Wolstenholme and drummer Dominic Howard told a Los Angeles radio station that the band will enter the studio in May to begin work on its seventh studio album. Speaking just before the first of the trio's two headlining slots at California's Coachella Festival, Howard said, "These are our last two gigs -- tomorrow and the next weekend, and then we’re completely done for touring (2012 album The 2nd Law). We’re going to go back in May and start working on some new stuff, so I think we’ll start recording it this year. If we can get something out this year, that would be great, but definitely next year."
- Wolstenholme told us a while back that Muse never begins an album with a plan in mind:"As with any album we've done before, you know, it's always important to feel like we're moving on and we're moving in some new places and you don't always know what that's going to be at first. I think, you know, you can write a song, but any song can be taken any way you want it to go, you know." , along with Arcade Fire and Outkast.
