It's official. One of our favorite locals is getting some good business with his record label Third Man Records with his newest customer, Neil Young. Both Third Man and Neil Young's sites confirmed the news earlier this week. The new album, A Letter Home, will be released in March. Supposedly, the two had collaborated and had played some cover tunes together, but it's still unknown if those will be forwarded onto the new album.
When Rolling Stone asked Neil Young on his experience with Third Man, he said it was one of the "lowest-tech experiences I've ever had."
Credited to 'Homer Grosvenor,' the new album is described as "an unheard collection of rediscovered songs from the past recorded on ancient electro mechanical technology captures and unleashes the essence of something that could have been gone forever..."
Although very few details have been spilled on this new record, it's enough to get excited to hear Jack White work his magic for Neil Young. Pretty dang excited for this!
