LOS ANGELES (CNN) – U.S. Customs came across an interesting package at LAX... 67 live snails!
The accompanying paperwork indicated they were for human consumption.
However, a team of entomologists identified them as giant African snails, an extremely invasive species.
They’re one of the world’s largest land snails, and they’ll eat anything from fruits and vegetables, to paint and stucco off houses. They’ve also been known to carry parasites that could be harmful to people.
