Nine Inch Nails main man Trent Reznor revealed via a post on Twitter on Tuesday (January 21st) that he and collaborator Atticus Ross are composing the score for Gone Girl, the upcoming psychological thriller starring Ben Affleck and directed by David Fincher. This will be Reznor and Ross' third film score for Fincher, following 2011's The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo and 2010's The Social Network. The pair won both the Oscar and the Golden Globe for Best Original Score for the latter.
- Reznor's tweet read, "...yes, Atticus and I are scoring David Fincher’s upcoming Gone Girl!"
- Affleck plays a man accused in the disappearance of his wife in the film, which also stars Rosamund Pike, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit, Tyler Perry and Neil Patrick Harris. Gone Girl opens on October 3rd, 2014.
- Nine Inch Nails has been touring behind its eighth album, Hesitation Marks, the first new NIN record in five years.
- Following a recently completed North American trek, Reznor announced that a streamlined lineup of the band will return for another round of North American dates early next year.
