The more stories like this I see, the more shocking and so very REAL this tornado was. It may not have gotten near us here at the Buzz Studio, but areas like Madison weren’t as fortunate.
As a cat owner, this story hit home. I couldn’t imagine! WKRN posted this story of a 16-year-old cat that was home alone during the tornado while her owners were out of town when the tornado hit Madison last Saturday evening. A Nashville resident and volunteer with Hands On Nashville was ready to help after the tornado hit. She saw a friend on Facebook live show footage of the tornado damage, and that’s where she saw the cat in the midst of the rubble. She drove to the site to help the cat where she said it was “barely breathing.”
After taking the cat to the vet for care, she learned the cat, named Sandy, was 16 years old and had been with her current owners her whole life. The cat is having some “neurological issues and his balance is affected,” but she’s stable and receiving treatment.
