A study revealed the top metropolitan areas that are deemed the “most outdoor-friendly,” and Nashville ranked in the Top 10 of the list.
Maybe not this week since it’s supposed to be a thousand degrees outside, but otherwise…
According to the study, the final rankings were determined based on “the number of days residents participate in outdoor recreation, visits to public parks and land, nights camping/glamping/RVing, memberships in outdoor groups,” etc.

- Denver, CO
- Grand Rapids, MI
- Miami, FL
- Portland, OR
- Nashville, TN
- San Francisco, CA
- Richmond, VA
- Los Angeles, CA
- Charlotte, NC
The study says about Nashville:
“Nashville offers a variety of outdoor activities with its parks, rivers, and lakes. The nearby Great Smoky Mountains provide excellent hiking and camping oppportunities. The city’s greenways and the Cumberland River offer additional recreational activities such as biking and kayaking.”
