The two astronauts that were stranded in space, including Murfreesboro-born and Mt. Juliet-raised Barry Wilmore, have officially returned home after nine months.
NASA’s Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore are finally returning to earth after nine months in space. The two astronauts were only supposed to be at the International Space Station for a week when they arrived in June of 2024, but their returning craft malfunctioned. The two left the space station on Tuesday in a SpaceX Dragon capsule. Williams has called their mission “a lot of fun” and neither astronaut has cast any blame for their unusual situation. (newser)
