If you’re like our resident Beatles expert, Hot Wings, you know the story of how they auditioned for countless recording studios in the early 60’s and were turned away.
Now, a rare and long-lost tape of one of those sessions has been found by Canadian record shop owner, Rob Frith. According to Frith, it was labeled “Beatles 60’s Demos” and upon listening to it, he quickly realized the quality of the tape is pristine and sounds “like they are playing in the room.”
Now, the tape is believed to be a recording of the Jan. 1, 1962 audition the band recorded at Decca Studios in London before the label famously passed on the group.
