First views of the new Ascend Amphitheater downtown on the riverfront (1st & Korean Vets).
The Amphitheater will house a 100 foot X 55 foot stage, 2,200 temporary seats, 100 permium box seats, and 4,500 lawn capacity. Ascend also boasts a custom electronic orchestra shell allowing the Nashville Symphony and other artists to feel right at home while looking up at the stars. The seating bowl takes full advantage of the approximately 45-foot grade change over the site, each seat providing a very intimate concert experience and excellent sightlines with a maximum 300 feet from the stage to the back of the seating area.
Mayor Karl Dean will hold the official grand opening of Riverfront Park and Amphitheater on Thursday July 30th, 11:00am at the north entrance. There will also be a community open house on Sunday, August 2nd, from 1pm-5pm which will include free live music, tours of the Amphitheater, and family friendly activities.
Sublime with Rome and Marilyn Manson and The Smashing Pumpkins will be at the Ascend Amphitheater in August! Click the photos below for more info.
