Stephan Jenkins of Third Eye Blind was spotted at an airport when a fan (with a stack of records) asked him to sign them. He looked caught off guard and said, “Tell me a song that’s on Out Of The Vein.” When the person with the records said he “can’t believe” he would ask that, Stephan proceeded, “I’ll tell you why… There’s a business of signing stuff that goes up on eBay, and I don’t want to participate in it.”
Should he have just signed the autograph without asking? Should the autograph seeker respect his request?
Some comments on the video:
- “What a coincidence running into you here while I have my stack of the same albums.”
- “I also go to the airport with my multiple physical copies of albums”
- “Yeah if you come with a whole stack I’m gonna assume the same thing. And since you got the stack you must know at least one song on those albums.”
- “Steven was cool to sign even one.”
- “Lol when you roll up to an airport with a stack of vinyls, they know exactly what’s up”
