His real name, Jason DeFord, is well-known in Nashville. Although he’s gone by “Jelly Roll” for years before his career has taken off in the last few years, there’s another band with the same name, and they’re suing.
The lead singer of a Pennsylvania-based dance/wedding band named “Jellyroll” is allegedly suing Jelly Roll for a trademarked name. He states that the band has been using that name since 1980. They apparently received a trademark in 2010 and renewed it in 2019. Loudwire said, “Titchenell seeks injunctive relief for service mark infringement, false designation of origin and/or sponsorship, dilution, common law palming off, trademark and trade name infringement and unfair competition, and injury to business reputation and dilution.”
Jelly Roll hasn’t commented on the situation yet. Read more about the fiasco from Loudwire HERE.
