Coheed and Cambria took to Instagram on Wednesday (November 20) to announce that they have a new album on the way titled The Father of Make Believe, which is set to be released on March 14th. The prog metal band also shared their new single “Searching for Tomorrow,” which is accompanied by an animated music video directed by Anthony Scheppard. The Father of Make Believe carries on the lyrical themes of the “Amory Wars / Vaxis” universe featured on the band’s 2022 album, Vaxis Act II: A Window of the Waking Mind. “One way to look at The Father of Make Believe is Coheed and Cambria establishing a desire to move forward while honoring a remarkable history,” reads the press release for the record. “Another: a series of questions, emotions, and thoughts at war with each other — ‘a war within myself,’ as bandleader, vocalist and lead guitarist Claudio Sanchez puts it.” (Consequence of Sound)
