Wisconsin native Don Gorske has been eating at least one Big Mac from McDonald’s a day since 1972, and yesterday, he reached a milestone by chowing down on his 30,000th Big Mac! I’ll save you from doing the math; Gorske started on May 17th, 1972. So, including leap years, he’s had 17,031 to accomplish this feat, which means he’s had to have eaten an average of 1.76 Big Macs a day!
The Guiness Book of World Records sought out Gorske in 2016 when he was at 28.788 Big Macs, and no one has even come close to beating his record since. He was featured in the Supersize Me documentary, and has even written his own book about the endeavor .
What really gets me though is that the dude looks like he’s in decent shape! When I heard about this record, I imagined whoever it was had to be seriously out of shape, but apparently Gorske runs marathons and works out constantly, keeping his cholesterol at around 160 and claiming he’s hardly ever even sick.
